Manufacturing accounts for 12% of the Gross Domestic Product and is rising. 67%  of respondents to a 2011 survey by Deloitte and the Manufacturing Institute reported a moderate to severe shortage of qualified workers and 83% for skilled production positions.

Manufacturing Production Process Development

Students completing this path will be well prepared for National Occupational Competency Testing Institute (NOCTI) Manufacturing Technology Exam or Manufacturing Skill Standards Council (MSSC) Certified Production Technician Certification.  Courses in this path include IT and Manufacturing Explorations, Fundamentals of Manufacturing, Manufacturing Product Development, and Manufacturing Process Development.

Production

Students completing this path will be well prepared for National Occupational Competency Testing Institute (NOCTI) Precision Machining Exam and National Institute for Metalworking Skills (NIMS) CNC Machine Operator Certification.  Courses in this pathway include IT and Manufacturing Explorations, Fundamentals of Manufacturing, Manufacturing Product Development, Advanced Manufacturing Applications, and Manufacturing Systems.

Health, Safety, and Environmental Assurance

Students completing this path will be well prepared for MSSCC Certified Production Technician Certification.  Courses in this path include IT and Manufacturing Explorations, Fundamentals of Manufacturing, Manufacturing Systems, and Health and Safety/Environmental Safety.
